A Mile In My Shoes

Reimagining this powerful exhibition as a weekly podcast

The Empathy Museum’s innovative giant shoe box exhibit houses an array of donated shoes which visitors can try on and walk in whilst listening, via headphones, to the first person stories of the people who owned them. The ‘A Mile In My Shoes’ podcast which we developed and produced for the museum deftly takes this physical exhibition experience into a new dimension.

Each week podcast subscribers are invited to immerse themselves in gripping first-person stories from all works of life including a Syrian refugee, a sex worker, a war veteran and a neurosurgeon.

Each episode enables listeners to see the world through other people’s eyes and embark on powerful empathetic journeys which in turn supports the Empathy Museum’s mission – to explore how empathy can not only transform our personal relationships, but also tackle global challenges such as prejudice, conflict and inequality.
