A fantastic opportunity for a Head of Operations to join our team…

This is a pivotal new role that sits at the heart of Loftus. It will increase efficiency, consistency and innovation across our operations and production processes. The successful candidate will enable us to remain robust, flexible and dynamic as we evolve and we’re excited to be offering it.

You will take on responsibility for many of the financial, budgetary, contractual and logistical elements involved in the smooth running of the company. You will join our Senior Leadership Team and work with the Directors in shaping the company as we grow. You will contribute to Loftus’ development, planning and forward thinking. You will be an ambassador for the company.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be highly motivated and solutions-orientated with exceptional attention to detail and a can-do approach. You will have experience of reporting to company Directors and managing a team. You will be used to overseeing projects and/or company operations and moving them forwards, and you won’t be afraid of saying ‘no’ when necessary. Your enthusiasm in a creative environment and your strong work ethic will be evident in your application. 

The role will include:

Company Operations

  • Working with the Directors on the day to day running of the company 
  • Participating in the planning of the future direction of the company 
  • Overseeing financial processes 
  • Taking responsibility for company policies – e.g. HR, health and safety, sustainability, diversity, data protection and our staff handbook 
  • Managing company insurances, collaborations and partnerships, employment processes and talent negotiations (supported by our HR and legal advisers)
  • Championing our company values and culture

Production Management

You’ll have: 

  • Substantial experience of overseeing a range of productions across a variety of output on time and to budget 
  • The ability to handle all aspects of production: financial, contractual, legal, talent and rights; working closely with our legal and HR advisors
  • Strong negotiating skills: the ability to influence, manage and negotiate deals and contracts in line with company policies and guidelines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of helping producers and project managers to realise editorial ambitions within operational and financial constraints
  • Experience of handling risk assessments and dealing with health & safety  
  • Experience of managing and nurturing teams 
  • The ability to work with production teams to devise and implement plans to reduce environmental impact across productions
  • Experience of developing and nurturing a diverse and inclusive team 

Essential skills, knowledge and experience 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of operational and production oversight as well as managing a team 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of multi-tasking across a range of projects
  • A commercial mind, with evidence to demonstrate as such
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Excellent computer literacy, including MS Office packages, Google docs, Cloud based storage systems etc
